No, the ultrasound scan is completely painless. A warm gel will be applied to your skin, and a small probe will be moved over the area. You may feel slight pressure, but it is not uncomfortable.

The scan itself typically takes around 20-30 minutes to complete. Your appointment may be slightly longer to allow for check-in and any necessary discussions.
What happens after my thigh ultrasound scan?
Your images and a detailed report from a Consultant Radiologist will be available on our secure online portal within 72 hours. You can view, download, and share these results. You can also request a copy be sent to your GP.
How quickly can I get a scan?
