How long does an MRI scan of the upper arm take?

What happens during the scan?
You'll lie on a comfortable bed that moves into the MRI scanner. The scanner makes some noise, but you can relax. We'll give you a call button for reassurance. Our radiographers monitor you throughout.
Can I have contrast dye with my MRI?
Gadolinium contrast is an optional extra, costing an additional £200, and is only used if your referring clinician or our radiologist deems it clinically necessary after reviewing your case. This requires specific clinical confirmation before booking.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you can self-refer for an MRI scan at MyScanHub. You do not need a referral from your GP. However, we always recommend discussing your symptoms with your doctor.
