How long does an MRI wrist scan take?
A typical MRI scan of both wrists takes around 30–45 minutes to complete.
What happens during the scan?
You'll lie on a comfortable bed that moves into the MRI scanner. You'll be asked to keep still while the scanner produces images. You can communicate with the radiographer throughout the scan.
Do I need a referral for a private MRI wrist scan?
No, you do not need a referral from your GP to book a private MRI wrist scan at MyScanHub. You can self-refer.
When will I get my results?
Your scan images and report from a UK-certified Consultant Radiologist will be available via your secure online patient portal, usually within 72 hours.

Is my data kept private?
Yes. MyScanHub is CQC-registered and fully GDPR-compliant. Your imaging and report are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only shared with parties you explicitly authorise.
