What is the Basic Health Check blood test?
Our private Basic Health Check blood test is a proactive way to understand key aspects of your general health. It's ideal for anyone looking for a straightforward overview, and you can book it directly online without needing a GP referral.
This comprehensive test measures markers across several important health areas, including your Full Blood Count, Kidney Health, Heart Health, Liver Health, and Diabetes Health. It's important to remember that this blood test measures specific markers; it does not diagnose or detect any condition. A qualified clinician will interpret your results.
Your small venous blood sample will be taken at our clinic in Dartford, Kent, and sent to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for processing. You'll receive your results, reviewed by a clinician, in your secure MyScanHub portal within 2–5 working days. You don't need a GP referral to book, and it's a simple one-off payment.

Do I need to fast before the Basic Health Check?
Yes — we recommend fasting for 8–10 hours beforehand (water is fine), as recent food and drink can affect cholesterol and glucose readings.
How quickly will I get my results?

How is the blood sample taken?
A trained phlebotomist takes a small venous blood sample from your arm at our Kent clinic. It's quick and carried out in a private, comfortable setting.
What happens if a result is outside the normal range?
Any result outside the usual reference range is clearly highlighted in your report. A blood test doesn't diagnose on its own, so we recommend discussing flagged results with a clinician — you can add a GP consultation to talk them through.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
