What is the Sports Performance Check blood test?
Our private Sports Performance Check blood test is designed for individuals looking for a comprehensive overview of their general health and key biomarkers relevant to physical activity. Whether you're an athlete aiming to optimise your training or simply want a detailed health assessment, this extensive check can provide valuable insights. You can book this private blood test without needing a GP referral.
This extensive panel measures a wide range of markers across 15 key areas, including full blood count, heart health, kidney function, liver health, iron status, and nutritional markers like Vitamin D and B12. It also assesses hormonal balance, stress indicators, and blood sugar control. Remember, this test measures specific markers; it does not diagnose or detect any condition. A clinician interprets these results to help you understand what they mean for your health.
Your sample will be taken by a trained phlebotomist at our clinic in Dartford, Kent. It's then sent to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for processing. Your results, along with a clinician's review, will be available in your secure MyScanHub online portal within 2–5 working days. You can book and pay for this test online as a one-off payment, with no subscription required.

Sports Performance Check — frequently asked questions
Do I need to fast before the Sports Performance Check?
Yes — we recommend fasting for 8–10 hours beforehand (water is fine), as recent food and drink can affect cholesterol and glucose readings.
How quickly will I get my results?
Most results are ready within 2–5 working days and are uploaded to your secure MyScanHub portal once reviewed by a clinician.
How is the blood sample taken?
A trained phlebotomist takes a small venous blood sample from your arm at our Kent clinic. It's quick and carried out in a private, comfortable setting.
What happens if a result is outside the normal range?
Any result outside the usual reference range is clearly highlighted in your report. A blood test doesn't diagnose on its own, so we recommend discussing flagged results with a clinician — you can add a GP consultation to talk them through.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
No. You can book this blood test directly online — no GP referral is required. It's a one-off payment with no subscription.
