What is the Lifestyle & Nutrition Check blood test?

Our private Lifestyle & Nutrition Check blood test is a comprehensive way to gain insight into your general wellbeing. It's ideal for anyone looking to proactively understand key health markers, without needing a GP referral. This private blood test in Dartford offers a detailed look at various aspects of your health.

This extensive check measures markers across 8 key areas: Full Blood Count, Heart Health, Liver Health, Kidney Health, Bone Health, Diabetes Health, Iron Status, and Nutritional Health. It's important to remember that this test measures specific markers in your blood; it does not diagnose any condition. A qualified clinician will interpret these results for you.

The process is straightforward. A small blood sample is taken at our clinic in Bluewater, Dartford, Kent. Your sample is then sent to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for analysis. Results are reviewed by a clinician and typically available in your secure online portal within 2–5 working days. You can book your appointment directly online with a one-off payment, and no GP referral is required.

Lifestyle & Nutrition Check — frequently asked questions

Do I need to fast before the Lifestyle & Nutrition Check?

Yes — we recommend fasting for 8–10 hours beforehand (water is fine), as recent food and drink can affect cholesterol and glucose readings.

How quickly will I get my results?

Most results are ready within 2–5 working days and are uploaded to your secure MyScanHub portal once reviewed by a clinician.

How is the blood sample taken?

A trained phlebotomist takes a small venous blood sample from your arm at our Kent clinic. It's quick and carried out in a private, comfortable setting.

What happens if a result is outside the normal range?

Any result outside the usual reference range is clearly highlighted in your report. A blood test doesn't diagnose on its own, so we recommend discussing flagged results with a clinician — you can add a GP consultation to talk them through.

Do I need a GP referral to book?

No. You can book this blood test directly online — no GP referral is required. It's a one-off payment with no subscription.
