What to expect at your ultrasound scan
- 1Some scans need a full bladder or a few hours without food; the scan's own page and your confirmation email say which.
- 2Gel goes on the skin and a small handheld probe is moved over the area. There are no needles and no radiation.
- 3Most scans take 15–30 minutes, and you can drive and go back to work straight away.
- 4Your report follows within 72 hours (pregnancy scans are explained on the day). Male sonographers work at our clinic; a chaperone is available on request and will never be refused.
