How long does an ultrasound soft tissue scan take?
The scan itself typically takes around 15-30 minutes, depending on the area being examined. Your appointment will be longer to allow for check-in and discussion with the sonographer.
Will the scan be painful?
No, ultrasound is a painless procedure. A warm, water-based gel is applied to your skin, and a small probe is moved over the area. You may feel slight pressure, but it is not uncomfortable.
When will I get my results?
Your images will be available on your secure online patient portal, and a detailed report from a Consultant Radiologist will be ready within 72 hours. You can then share these with your GP or referring clinician.
