What to expect at your ultrasound scan
- 1Some scans need a full bladder or a few hours without food; the scan's own page and your confirmation email say which.
- 2Gel goes on the skin and a small handheld probe is moved over the area. There are no needles and no radiation.
- 3Most scans take 15–30 minutes, and you can drive and go back to work straight away.
- 4Your report follows within 72 hours (pregnancy scans are explained on the day). Male sonographers work at our clinic; a chaperone is available on request and will never be refused.
Questions
Private Ultrasound Scans: Chatham FAQs
- How do I get to MyScanHub from Chatham without a car?
- Take Arriva's 700 from Chatham Waterfront bus station or Chatham station: it runs through Rochester and Strood to Bluewater bus station. Or take a Thameslink train from Chatham to Greenhithe for Bluewater, then Fastrack A from outside the station or a short taxi ride.
- What is the best route from Walderslade or Lordswood?
- Join the M2 and stay on it as it becomes the A2, then leave at the B255 junction for Bluewater. From Walderslade that is about 16 miles, usually around 25 minutes.
- Do I need a GP referral for a private ultrasound scan near Chatham?
- No. You can book directly online. Each scan is reported by a consultant radiologist or an HCPC-registered clinical specialist sonographer.
- When will I get my ultrasound report?
- Your written report is uploaded to your secure patient account within 72 hours. Pregnancy scans are explained during the appointment and the report follows after the scan.
- Do you offer pregnancy and baby scans?
- Yes: early pregnancy, gender and well-being, growth, presentation and 4D/5D scans. Private scans sit alongside your NHS antenatal care, not instead of it. Male sonographers work at our clinic; a chaperone is available on request and will never be refused.
