How long does an MRI adrenal scan take?

Will I need contrast dye for my adrenal MRI?
Contrast dye is not always necessary for adrenal MRI scans. If it is clinically required for a more detailed assessment, it can be administered intravenously. This is an optional add-on and requires clinical confirmation before booking.
Can I eat and drink before my adrenal MRI?
Generally, you can eat and drink as normal before your adrenal MRI unless you are specifically instructed otherwise by your doctor or our team. Please follow any specific pre-scan instructions you receive.
When will I get my results?
Your MRI scan will be reported by a UK-certified Consultant Radiologist. You can expect to receive your comprehensive report via your secure online patient portal within 3 working days of your appointment.
How quickly can I get a scan?

Do I need a GP referral?
No — MyScanHub accepts self-referral for most scans. Our consultant radiologists review every case. Some scans (e.g. contrast studies) do need a referring clinician; we'll let you know at booking.

Written reports from a GMC-registered consultant radiologist are delivered within 3 working days of your scan, often sooner. You can access the report — and the imaging — through your patient account on portal.myscanhub.com.
Is my data kept private?
Yes. MyScanHub is CQC-registered and fully GDPR-compliant. Your imaging and report are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only shared with parties you explicitly authorise.
