How long does an MRI pancreas scan take?
A typical MRI scan of the pancreas takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the specific sequences required by the radiologist.
Will I need contrast dye for my pancreas MRI?
Contrast dye (gadolinium) is sometimes used to improve the visibility of certain structures and abnormalities. This is an optional add-on, costing an additional £120, and will only be administered if deemed clinically necessary after discussion with your referring clinician or our team.
Can I get my results straight away?
Your scan images will be reviewed by a UK-certified Consultant Radiologist. You will typically receive your detailed report within 3 working days via your secure online patient portal. You can then download, view, and share these results, or send them to your GP.
Is an MRI scan painful?
No, an MRI scan is a painless procedure. You will lie comfortably inside the scanner, and the machine produces some noise, but you will not feel any discomfort.
How quickly can I get a scan?

Do I need a GP referral?
